This is the big debate right now on espn radio, thought it might be interesting to see what you all thought of.

He's the coach of an NFL team. He should be able to say stuff like that if he wants. What happened to the days when Parcells would be able to say crap about his players in order to fire them up? They're not running daycares.

Plus, here's the funny part. Johnson is upset that Vermeil said that he has to "Take the diapers off", so what does he do? HE CRIES ABOUT IT!!

He's the coach. he can motivate the players any way he wants I suppose. Kinda did a double take at the TV today when I heard that interview.
But one must wonder, how the hell does he come up with this material?!

I think Vermiel is wrong. I also think drafting LJ was wrong. All LJ has wanted to do since he got to KC was play football. The Cheifs have not given him the chance to. And then Vermiel the king of crying tells LJ not to be a baby. GIMMIE A BREAK

To me. Just like LJ said, hes a grown man. Show another Grown man some respect. It doesnt matter if your his boss. Tell him what to do, but dont disrespect him like that.

Play football, now he gets a chance and he is crying about a little ankle sprain, cmon. A coach should be able to say anything they need to, to get a player fired up. And why would you give him a chance when you have Holmes scoring 27 TD's in front of him. They drafted him, for one reason and one reason only, to back up Holmes and to be there in case he gets hurt.

Johnson has never cried about playing. From day when he came into camp he wanted to work and he wanted to play. The ONLY REASON THEY DRAFTED LJ was because Preist wouldnt tell the truth about the severity of his injury. If Holmes has come clean and told Vermiel things, Larry wouldnt of been drafted by KC and he would be starting somewhere else now.

LJ is being treated like the redheaded stepchild of Vermiel and Carl Peterson. And i dont blame him for being pissed off. He's wasting valuable years sitting behind someone.

Vermeil didn't want to draft LJ in the first place, but still Im not sure that was the right thing to say then. Some guys just never get their chance because the coach or a new gm comes in and that player was the old gm's guy.

Vermiel made the final choice when it came down to it and i blame Holmes. The more i know about Preist the less i like him.

That could be. I don't blame Holmes 100% though. He was trying to get a new contract then also so he was looking out for himself. Not a team player thing to do but in the end he needs to look out for himself some too. As it stands I think this is Holmes's last year anyways (from what he said during the offseason) so its a good chance for LJ to prove what he can do.

This whole thing is starting to remind me of the Marcus Allen/ Al Davis deal.

Thats very true. That was bad thing to do to a good player.

Regardless of whether or not it was right or wrong, I would say "Mission Accomplished"

Think Johnson might go out there and play like he's got something to prove now?

Which will bode him well when Priest retires after this season.
