-85% success rate for his career
- He worked well in florida with Looper as the set up man.
I do not have faith in Looper as a closer. He finished rough in september when he blew 3 or 4 games and then after monday. I think he could be a very nice set-up man as he once was. I know cincy's line-up isnt the Royals but its not the rangers either.
Id be willing to give up anyone short of Concepcion, Humber, Petit and Milledge.
We tried. Cameron was the deal for the longest, but decided he wanted to stay. We seriously need a 3rd baseman or a CFer (Though I don't want to see Monroe's bat on the bench). Our OF is pretty shakey on D, but should be huge on offense. It is only a matter of time before Uggie gets dealt, but Dombrowski is just sitting until someone gives us what we want. Rondell White is certainly expendable. He and Cameron are pretty much a toss up. White has a hell of a lot better average, but Cameron brings the speed. Cameron has the Tigers as a team in his no-trade clause so that doesn't work.

Theyre looking to contend now. If youre needing a 3b the mets have Shawn Bowman down in the minors, about 1.5-2 years away from being a pretty good player. It would give each team what theyre needing if the tigers are willing to accept a prospect.

I think the deal will happen in the next couple weeks. The Tigers are waiting for Fernando Rodney to get healed completely and come off the 15-Day DL. That gives the Tigers a chance to see if they need Urbina. The Mets also during that time will also figure out if Looper is for real or not. I don't know if anyone on the major league roster for New York will be traded but one or two good prospects I can see being traded.

When talks broke off I think it was assumed that the Tigers were looking at a prospect rather than one out your big league club. I know Urbina wants to get traded so he can close, but the Tigers really don't need to trade him. I would think that we may be looking at a starter more than a guy for third if we swung a deal.
Inge isn't the greatest offensive player, but he improved a hell of a lot last year and is a tremendous defensive player almost anywhere. The plan for the team was to sign either a CF or 3B or both in the off season. Then turn around and trade White so Monroe could play LF. Inge would have played either CF or 3B. That kid has a rocket arm. He would get plenty of assists out there.
The Tigers really have a great offense and BP. Having Urbina as a set up guy is fantastic, but he is great trade bait too. Someone will pony up a significant player for him eventually. Dombrowki is just going to sit back and wait on it to happen.

Our division has 4 good teams in and its gonna be too tight to lose games like the 1 monday and expect to finish better than 3rd or 4th. Im hoping something like Bowman + Victor Diaz gets it done.
