Its finally hit me that this lockout, even though its needed is the beginning to the end of hockey as we know it.

After all is said and done we'll see alot of big names gone elsewhere, Radical changes to attract more viewers and scab players filling up rosters throughout the league.

Reality for the players: they have more options in hockey than any other sport to make a living. Thus giving them the feeling of the league needing them

Reality for the owners: they have the most prestigous league in the world and feel that no player could believe playing elsewhere could even come close to playing for the cup.

Result: The owners will never comprimise knowing that they will take a hit but can always find more players to set the league right.
The players will take the big money elsewhere to keep their lifestyles going and the NHL will move forward without them


Ofcourse this will happen now as the Kings now have good young talent! Somewhere the Kings pissed off the hockey gods!
