i have to believe only one of these guys is going to stick with the big team.
who do you think it SHOULD be?

harris?
with the exception one one streak at the beginning of last season he's shown he's pretty much a .240/.250 hitter in 4 years. and now that the pressure is really on he's hitting .200 this spring. he's probably a little better 2nd baseman but i find little else to recommend him.

ozuna?
it's apparent he can hit. he's always hit thruout his minor league career. he's also been a base stealer (i don't know if he's faster than harris but i believe he's a lot better base stealer). plus he's hitting over .500 this spring.
i don't know if he would be any better than harris at short as a backup, but he has played there even tho it's only been a couple games. i believe he's got a better arm.
he's also 4 years older at age 30! and has had been out of action for a time.

my opinion is the age doesn't bother me. he's going to be a backup and 30 is not over the hill. i think he's earned the trip east. ozuna showed he either wanted it more this spring or is simply a better player.

any reason to keep harris other than he's been with the club for a couple years?

It sucks that I haven't seen any of the games this preseason, so I can't answer it fully.

Ozuna's numbers have been impressive, but they may be a bit skewed, especially if he had been getting a lot of work done late in games playing against the opponent's farmhand pitchers.

The big thing that it seems Ozuna has going for him is that he is out of options. He can't get sent down without clearing waivers. With a good spring, the Sox may be forced to keep him on the 25 man roster due to the fact that if they try and clear him, someone may scoop him up.

Another guy who apparently is out of options is Wilson Valdez. My guess is he will be able to clear waivers, but even if he doesn't all we had lost was Koch to get him.
