how did BDetto make it to the Elite8??? I'm lost he's ranked like 37th and made it but I'm ranked 6th and didn't.... I'm lobbying for a womens tour next year... cause the boob factor rules all....

It is possible for a woman to win based solely on her knowedge and presentation of baseball.

There are a lot of factors that go into this.
A lot.
Fairness might be on the list somewhere right next to scientific and inane.

yes... and I comp. give it up to Invader for her knowledge... she's a great poster... but more often then not her posts end up with someone callin her hot, commenting on her boobs, etc... if she was a guy our comp. would have been much closer... but I'm not tryin to take away from Newt... shes great...

Isn't BDetto a guy? He's either male, or I've missed something for the past year and a half.
Also, BDetto was one of the, if the the single, best poster on the ESPN boards which is why he's gotten so far. Also, the seeding doesn't really mean that much.
I think we should have another competition after the season since a lot of the newer guys lost where they possibly could/should have won by landslides.

No... we weren't talkin bout BDetto... I was just saying... where a 37th ranked person makes it in cause they didn't face Newt... but a 6th doesn't make it in cause they did... the system should also work like the tourney... and if it does my bad... but the weakest seeds go against the strongest seeds...

It does go like that. BDetto took down the number 5 seed to get this far -- which is why I said the seedings don't matter that much. MikeLewis is a good poster, but it was obvious that BDetto is a better poster than his seed says.

mmmmmm... debateable...he's good, but ESPN boards don't mean anything... you get ranked on what you've done here... not there... ok.... but where the 5 seed took on the 37th... I (the 6th seed) had to take on #11...I'm sure there was a weaker seed than that... like you ( not saying your a bad poster)... so no it doesn't run that way now that i think of it...

They were set up in a bracket, I believe, but I'm not positive.

these aren't the nfl playoffs, there is no reseeding. the brackets were worked out, you just have to beat out who you are matched up against.

I think he did a good job too... but the way the rounds go are wierd... so the rounds now wouldn't nec. look the same if the seeding were done like the tourney with strongest against weakest...

hmmmm... last time i checked every mahjor sports playoff except for the NBA works that its strongest against weakest... and it drops down like that....

the NHL does not reseed (when it has play-offs), neither does MLB, in addition to the NBA. the seeds only decide the first round match-ups.
Bucknell is happy there is no re-seeding in the NCAA tourny, too.

It's kind of like the NCAA tournament. Think of it that way. If the 1 beats the 16th seed and the 15th beats the 2nd. The 1st still goes on to play the winner of 8 / 9 game. The 1 seed doesn't get to play the 15 seed.

MLB can't reseed. Although, they should expand their postseason to 8 teams. Then, maybe, I'd get to watch a Phillies playoff game.
