Do you guys think I trade Mark Prior and if you think I should what do you think I could get for him?
Right now, for a trade I'd be giving up Sammy Sosa and Prior for Roy Oswalt? Good deal or bad deal?
Thanks guys.

Oswalt is a flatout stud.
Sammy is an all or nothing guy, but he might have somewhat of a bounceback in B-More with that park and a decent lineup.
Prior is damaged goods, and at this point he's no better than Beckett or Wood for that matter.
A ton of hype, great pitching when healthy, but always seems to be hurt.
I really like Prior, but as an owner of Beckett over the years sometimes you just have to say enough is enough.
Problem is in his current situation you'll never come close to getting the value that a healthy Prior would command.
Would I do that deal?
I think I probably would, but I'd have to know the situations of both clubs, strengths, weaknesses, and so forth before making a final decision.
Educate yourself on Prior's injury and find out what the supposed time table for him is.
And expect that he won't be the same pitcher at first when he does come back.

Haha, right now I'm thinking that too.
But if he comes back and wins a few games for the Cubbies, we'll be fine again.

I can't say I'm completely up to speed on Prior at the moment b/c I don't have him on a team...yet, and my keeper league draft this weekend he's already taken.
That's why I wanted you to check up on him, but I can tell you that I'm a big fan of Oswalt, and he'd be a solid addition if you could land him.

I thought about trading for him last year. I had a very good team and had plenty to give up to get him. Thankfully, the ass who kept Prior all year didn't except my offer.

I wouldnt deal prior at all right now for multiple reasons.
- He's injured a bit, so his value is lower than what it will be when hes healthy. But it's only an injury where hes not expected to miss at most a week of the regular season. Thats 1-2 starts. Why give up on him so early when its not severe?
- I own Prior in 1 of my leagues as well. Took him in rd 2 so I know what your going through. I think he'll win the Cy Young regardless though.
- Remember Jason Schmidt last year? He missed like teh 1st month and a lot of people wrote him off. Well that same pattern is devloping with prior. You have a P with dominant stuff and who knows how to pitch. The only concern I have about him is Baker's handling of pitcher's. Either way I'd wait till he makes a few starts then deal him; let his value get back to where it should be.
- Finally that deal blows ass for you. Prior is > Oswalt and I fully expect Sammy to mash 50 hrs in that sandbox known as Camden. That park is tiny and everything leaves the yeard there.

Oh and as far as injury concerns; you'd only be dealing 1 injury concern for another in that Oswalt-Prior deal. Oswalt has had like 1 healthy season in 4 years. Prior's 1/2 so far. Oswalt misses starts every year with an assortment of injury's. So not only would you be giving up the more talented player, youre not even getting a player who's reliable health wise.
