I just traded Brett Boone for Jose Reyes and Chad Cordero.

I also have Bellhorn available to play second for me, and Furcal at short.

If Reyes stays healthy he adds much needed speed. If not I still have Chad closing for me.

I have Wagner and Batista as my other closers. I also have Mike Gonzalez, holding out hope that he will close soon, but I might need to drop him now.

My OF consists of Berkman, L. Gonzalez, Bay, and Burrell.

I might need another OF to start the year, but I can play Huff there.

However I have no other 3B except Bellhorn.

So is the deal a good one or bad one given my current and future situations?

I certainly think Bellhorn and Boone's numbers won't be all that different aside from some HRs.

It all depends on how Boone does this year. Two seasons ago, i had him rated as the #1 fantasy second baseman, even ahead of Soriano.

Last year I wouldnt have givin you a bucket of piss for him.

Well I think Chad Cordero is going to be a solid closer, and there are about as many question marks surrounding Boone as there is surrounding Reyes.

But if Reyes can stay healthy I just landed a guy who will steal over 50 bags.

If he can't stay healthy, I still expect a good contribution from Cordero, and I have starters already set at second and short.

I think b/c of that I could afford to take the chance.

Also someone dropped Lew Ford, so I'm going to pick him up to fill in for the OF as needed. I have number 2 priority

So I will have added Ford, Reyes, and Furcal for speed.

And I still have a good amount of pop with Helton, Thome, Huff, Berkman, L. Gonzalez, and Burrell among others.

I also have Crosby right now who could be a 30 HR SS.

Now I'm just waiting for someone like Berkman to officially hit the DL so I gain another roster spot.

Well, i absolutely agree with you about Cordero. The kid has a bright future to say the least.

As far as Reyes goes, I'm sure you know how I feel about him. With all the interest i had last year in our league together in aquiring him via a trade, that should be a good clue.

If he can just stay healthy......I love Reyes. That kid is dynamite on the bases. Expect him to steal 60+ if hes healthy which he seems to be and hit 300 with 100 RS. Think a better version of Jimmy Rollins (Im sure all the Phillies fans will complain).
