Did Zeke seriously find this site this quickly? That's simply amazing.

Everyone is zeke, and zeke is everywhere.

Sully posted on the espn Islanders board that we were bringing the site back, and someone replied "Nice try Zeke".

There is no such thing as a "Zeke Free Zone"....

And thus, we have rationale for the "User Reputation" feature.

One of the many features that make vbulletin highly superior to what I'm used to.

Quick Reply would be another great feature. This thing saves me loads of time when writing messages.

yes, if someone really hates you and is stalking you.

We would know better. I know there's people out there who will love to pounce on each and every one of my posts with a -.

Hopefully they haven't registered yet...

The amount of time it would take to abuse that feature makes it so that it isn't even worth it. There are a couple of things implemented that make it so you can't intentionally bog down someone's reputation.

1 - You can only make so many reputation comments in one day.
2 - There is a post minimum for having reputation power.
3 - At this point, the reputation values are so low that they won't put too much of a dent in someone's reputation
4 - You have to give reputation to a variety of users (Feature that won't allow you to give reputation to user x until you give reputation to y number of users... y is a number I'm not giving out for obvious reasons)

Yes, but the question is:

Can I bump up my own reputation.

Not that there's anything wrong with that! :o

You cannot. I tested it on one of my own posts and it wouldn't allow me to do that.

What's the point behind the quick reply feature?

It's so you don't have to hit the reply button. You can just start typing in the box and hit the quick reply button.

The quick reply is pretty cool, actually. Take a look below this post. See that little box with a B, I, U, Quote, etc. option pane? That's "Quick Reply". If you just want to reply without the hassle of opening a new window and the large WYSIWIG interface, you can just click on the quick reply button (In the dark style, it's in the lower right corner of the post... The sheet of paper with the arrow on it). It saves you the effort of loading a new page while still allowing you to reply to a message. Note that you have to click on the quick reply button to enable it.

Well now that this topic is waaayyyyy of course. Does anyone want to discuss what we're all going to do with our free time if there is no NHL season this year.

I'll be watching a lot of OHL games. Since i like like 10 minutes from the Plymouth Whales. I have to check the Grand Rapids Griffins schedule and hopefully take in a couple of games.

I'll be working WAY more. What a great outlook for the year, probably work 6 or 7 days a week plus the whole school bit = money for college.

Does anyone want to discuss what we're all going to do with our free time if there is no NHL season this year.A Florida sports network is going to replay all the wins in the final 2 playoff series from last year starting Oct 26. That will help a little ..........

Actually, I have some but not all due to "technical difficulties" ............. I need to remember to tape them again this time. It will be cool because they're going to be using the Canadian broadcasts rather than the ABC/ESPN ones, I believe.

there'll be no season. Its a chance to waych some junior and semi-pro hockey again and see some guys who really care. Myself, probably work more, catch some junior games, play out a virtual season on the Playstation2.....

I doubt there will be a season. Neither side seems to care that very few people have even noticed there is a lockout. Hockey will never lose the diehard fans like myself, but they are going to lose a ton of newer fans...

My wife and I will be following college hockey a lot closer so long as we don't have our Red Wings. I havent been to a game at Yost (University of Michigan) in a few years, Im sure we will get to a few this year.

Hey the bright side of all of this is that I wont be spending hundreds/thousands of dollars on tickets and going to the bars to watch the games...

It is a sad reality what is happening with hockey. Tony K. is the only sports writer I've seen recently that's bothered to write a whole article about the Lockout. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A46164-2004Oct19.html

Agreed. I've been suffering with the Leafs since '67 (the first games my Dad let me watch on our 12" B+W TV was during the 68 season when I was 3) He got me skating that year. Ended my pro career just before junior with a knee blowout. could've been playing with the Gilmour era Leafs otherwise.

Its funny, with no games, this time of year seems a bit easier to deal with than normal.

Though as an old kid, I do miss the summer pickup games with the pros. In my hometown, I lived 2 doors away from Alex Delvecchio's family, used to hang there in the summer all of the time, nearly married his daughter once upon a time. My cousins in Sault Ste. Marie lived next door from the Espositos, when my family went there for weddings (big Italian family), I managed to talk Phil and Tony into playing shinny with the neighbourhood kids a few times - actually scored a goal against Tony when I was 7, though he may have let it in.....
