Ok, so I got bored yesterday and decided to join yet another league, which held their draft yesterday morning. I ended up picking second, so naturally I jumped all over Pujols when the first guy took A-Rod.
The problem is, Thome was sitting right there on the board when the 4th round came around. No way could I pass on him there, so I nabbed him as well. But then, in a complete shocker, there sat Delgado in round 7? No way could I pass that up either.
So now, here I sit with 3 very good first baseman, and absolutely nobody that wants to offer me anything worth a shit for any of them. After posting on the board that any of the guys were available for the right price, I got two offers...Bonds for Pujols, and Maggs for Thome. Both of which I laughed at the offers.
So, it appears that I will have to ride with Griffey as my 3rd outfielder, and hope that I can pull a trade off before he gets hurt again.
BTW, here is my starting offense. It quite possibly might be one of the better ones I ever had.
C- Piazza
1st- Pujols
2nd- Boone
3rd- Lowell
SS- Renteria
OF- Miggy Cabrera
OF- Garrett Anderson
OF- Griffey JR
Util- Thome
Bench- Delgado

Are you locked into positions? Pujols has played outfield and third base and has good stats at both.

That's a nice lineup. The same kind of thing happened to me, except I ended up with 4 all-star catchers. Varitek, Piazza, Lo Duca, and Posada. I got some pretty good deals for all of them, except Varitek, whom I kept.
My pitching staff is pretty good too. I'm happy with my chances in that league.

I would just wait it out. After some injuries people will come calling.
I'm not opposed to dealing Thome, but personally I'd try to deal Delgado who is most fragile of the 3, and his power numbers are sure to drop a little.

Ya, they have Albert strictly as a 1st baseman this year. I wish I could have him eligable at OF, then my problem would be solved.
Honestly, the only way I would trade Pujols is if I got an offer that I just couldnt refuse. I have a feeling that he is going to put up numbers this year that are unheard of.

I'm looking to add a top OF, and doubt that I will get that for Carlos. I think the "wait and see" approach is what I'm going to do. There are normally a few surprises each year in the OF, and I can just pick one of those up until the right offer comes around.

Look at the rookies that should play everyday to possibly fill that hole.

I got a draft tonight after I get home from work.
I love doing the drafts.
