Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Jeff Reed will continue to handle the kicking duties in the Steel City after signing a five-year contract with Pittsburgh on Thursday.
Reed enjoyed a solid 2004 season and led the Steelers in scoring with a career-high 124 points. He converted 28 of his 33 field-goal tries, including his last 17 of the regular season, and all 40 PAT attempts.
The 25-year-old North Carolina product will enter his fourth season with Pittsburgh after the team signed him via free agency in 2002. As per team policy, financial terms of Reed's contract were not released.
