Tue, 8 Mar 2005 19:24:44 -0800

Geoff Hobson, of Bengals.com (http://www.kffl.com/link/126), citing a story that appeared on profootballtalk.com, reports Cincinnati Bengals (http://www.kffl.com/team/12/nfl) RB Chris Perry (http://www.kffl.com/player/9046/nfl) (sports hernia) may need surgery for another sports hernia. Club spokesman Jack Brennan had no comment on the potential setback. Furthermore, there have been no indications from head coach Marvin Lewis (http://www.kffl.com/player/6452/nfl) that there has been any kind of a secondary diagnosis beyond the original Jan. 7 surgery to repair the deep abdominal muscle tear, performed by doctors at Duke University the week after the season ended. If Perry does need surgery and the same time frame holds from the January procedure, he would be able to return by June mini-camps.
