So I stole this from the Phils board who stole it from the Brewers board but whatever...what are your predictions for the Mets (as is assumng no more moves):

Team W/L : 88-74

Batters
Highest BA: Kaz Matsui 310
Most HR's: Beltran 29
Most RBI: Beltran 108
Most runs: Reyes 110
Most SB's: Reyes 55
Most 2B's: Wright 43
Highest SLG%: Beltran 510%
Highest OBP: Beltran 395%

Pitchers

Lowest ERA: Martinez 2.40
Most wins: Martinez 18
Most K's: Zambrano/Martinez 215
Most saves: Looper 45
Most losses: Trachsel 12
Most IP: Martinez 220

Ok, some miscellaneous stuff.........

Biggest surprise: Victor Zambrano's improved control, David Wright's development, Jose Reyes/Benson/Piazza staying healthy, Dougie Longname realizing hes allowed to hit too, the Mets finding suitable bullpen help among the current stock of arms.

Biggest Dissapointment: Piazza still being a shell of his former self in terms of his power numbers

All Star representative(s): Martinez, Beltran, Kaz Matsui, Jose Reyes, Tom Glavine

all stars: reyes, piazza, wright, beltran, glavine, pedro.

glavine and martinez combine for a powerful 1-2 combo. floyd stays healthy and puts up more than decent numbers. wright is forming into a superstar, pretty much gonna replace piazza's name in upcoming years.

disappointments: matsui still looks lost. looper shows why he sucked in florida.

however im a big piazza fan and i believe he still has the ability to hit 30 hr with an injury-free season.

however im a big piazza fan and i believe he still has the ability to hit 30 hr with an injury-free season. It's not that Im not a Piazza fan; it's that I hate being disappointed. And the last 2 years Piazza hasnt shown he can stay injury free and even when he was healthy the 2nd half of last year he hit like 220. And what kills me is we dont even know if hes washed up if you look at his splits: he hit 330 as a catcher, 300+ as a cleanup hitter, but 220 in the 2nd half last year and like 160 as a 1b.

So all im anticipating from him is 270-20-70 with both upside and downside. I hope he can give us 1 more year but I hate to rely on him to protect Beltran at this point.

The 1 thing I do anticipate is that Kaz Matsui will really be much better with the bat. I think he showed in the 2nd half he can lay off the splitters in the dirt now and if he can lay off the high heat hes going to be a very strong #2 hitter. I think with the year to get used to American pitching hes going to be very improved.

yeah i noticed youre pretty high on matsui by giving him the highest batting average on the team. well im one of his biggest critics. but yeah i do agree that 2nd year will definitely be an improvement.

yeah i noticed youre pretty high on matsui by giving him the highest batting average on the team. well im one of his biggest critics. but yeah i do agree that 2nd year will definitely be an improvement.Yeah he finished strong; hit over 300 in the 2nd half. I felt he was really putting it together when he got hurt. I think hes just going to be more adjust to NY and more adjusted to the way we play here. Im not nearly as optmistic on his glove though.
