No one is reporting this...although I don't doubt the story, you could see it coming. I don't think he should have been fired but I guess there is not much they can do at this point, they have to try something.

maybe this will help the team win or maybe get a better coach for next year.

Something we agree on... I don't think it's Flip's fault, either.

He wasn't "fired" he is still employed by the Timberwolves. He will be assigned to another position and he still has a chance to remain as head coach next season pending personel meetings by ownership and other coaches and players. McHale is only going to be an interm head coach for the rest of the season because he does not want to be a head coach and he has expressed that many times.

I really think this is stupid. People place too much blame on coaches. Really, aside from lineup switches and substitutions, there really isn't much you can do. I think the team is just lazy/arrogant and don't want to put forth any effort.

I think Flip was a good coach, and I don't see a good reason to do this. Yes, they are sucking, but I think the players are to blame here. From what I have noticed, we settle for a lot of jump shots and never penetrate the defense (aside from Wally). As a result, we don't get many offensive rebounds. I think if we ran to the basket more, we'd do better because we'd shoot much higher percentage shots, we'd get more trips to the foul line, and we'd have more energy. Might sound like a simple solution, but I've noticed that winning teams have more diverse shooting styles. It's great that KG is such a versatile player, but considering how huge he is, why doesn't he run at the basket? Why does Eddie Griffin keep throwing 3's regardless of the situation? Coaching isn't 100% to blame for this. Yes, Flip could ride on players for not playing the way he wants them to, but once players are on the court, there really isn't much a coach can do to stop you. I think most people who've played on a team before would agree.

I don't know what's going to happen exactly, but I think we're making a mistake here. I'd like to think that the owners will realize the mistake they made and bring Flip back, but who knows. I guess we'll all find out next week.

flip was not the problem. maybe the vets got tired of hearing the same message every day in practice, but that's no excuse for bad play. fuck injuries as an excuse, every team has them. the wolves has just played lackadaisical, imo. mchale would do more good pulling of a trade rather than trying to coach.

basically i don't see kevin as being the answer.

then again, if we win eight out of ten now, i will find some crow and spark the briquettes.

I still can't see how he's on an NBA roster. He's smaller than Boykins.
