When do we start to rest our regular starters, and what will be the pitching rotation in the playoffs...any rumors yet?

Well, I think we rest our starters when we clinch.....probally by going to a 6 or 7 man rotation using Durbin & one of our minor league pitchers...
And the Playoff rotation will probally be...
Radke
Santana
Silva
Lohse is in the pen, Mulholland may get the Nod for a playoff start....id be a little more comfortable with mulholland than Lohse
no doubt, lohse should NOT start one game in the playoffs. mulholland isn't a great option, but he hasn't pitched himself out of consideration.
gardy has kind of a difficult decision about johan. if schilling keeps winning there will be obvious pressure to keep sending johan out there every 5 days. schill will certainly get all his starts because the sox are still battling and could conceivably win the east...or possibly not even make the playoffs. their season is still totally up in the air...meanwhile we have the central virtually locked up.

The Season isn't about individual awards...my gut says the east coast is gonna vote shilling regardless of how Santana does anyway....id rather have him fresh and on fire for the playoffs....
yah i agree, the season isn't about individual awards...at least that sounds good. when you're a small market pitcher contending with a future hall of famer for the cy young, things tend to be different. i want santana fresh too. my guess is he might get skipped only if it means he would not have had at least 5 days rest w/o being skipped. umm...yah...that sentence sounded weird. i confuse myself sometimes.

i agree...except tell me that santana isn't 'on fire' the way it is with his normal every 5 day routine. he doesn't necessarily have to have a few extra days off to catch his breath.
it's a crapshoot...he has never pitched this many innings so he could break down at some point, we don't know. but with the streak he's on, you don't want to mess up the routine. damned if you do, damned if you don't.
i think it's gonna be like last year's alcs. if pedro would've beaten the yankees, francona would've been praised like a god. instead pedro fell apart and francona was run out of town. if johan continues his roll into the world series, everyone will praise gardy. however, if johan gets extra time off and gets thrown off his rhythm...or if he doesn't get a few extra days and breaks down...gardy will be second-guessed.
