The word out of San Fran these days seems to be that they are interested in trading the first pick in the NFL draft

Rumor has it that the Miami Dolphins are willing to deal down from #2.

Patrick Surtain is also "On the block." Since he's a top 3 CB in the NFL a 1st rd pick, or multiple day 1 picks, will be required in exchange for the man who leads the nfl in int's over the last 5 years with 25; 7 better than 2nd place Samari Rolle.

There's rumours over here in St. Louis that they are interested in bringing London Fletcher back to the Rams. According to inside info from a St Louis sports radio host, they have already held exploratory talks with the Bills, but the host refuses to speculate on the possibility of a deal happening. Martz recentley said that his biggest personnel mistake was letting 'Dot Com' leave town, so that explains the interest.

I'm not sure how much the Bills would want in return, because Fletcher has led them in tackles every year but he is 30 years old and entering the last two (expensive) years of his contract. If there's any Bills fans out there, how much do you think, realistically, the Bills would want for Fletcher?

It seems just about everyone is willing to trade down. No one wants to pay big bucks to a player that is not worthy. There is no one in the draft this year that is worth first pick money. For that matter, I'm not sure there is anyone who is worthy of top 5 pick money. If I was the 9ers GM I would trade down in a second, maybe less...but I don't think there will be any takers for such a deal. The 9ers should have dumped this pick during the season.
