The chiefs have a chance to grab a few veterns this year in the form of free agents. The question is, will Carl Peterson spend the big bucks for those solid vets.
Everyone knows the biggest problem for my beloved Chiefs is defense, but there are problems with the offense. Sure they are few and far between but it could use some improving. There are 2 big free agent wide outs this year. Plaxico Burress and Jerry Porter. I feel either could be a good number 1 wide out. Plaxico is a 6'5 225 lb WR who doesnt want to be a steeler anymore. Some say hes a problem child but maybe he just needs a change. I believe he would be a good fit for the Kansas City Chiefs. He would become the number 1 guy, which he wants to be. Only problem is it looks like theres going to be a bidding war for him, most likely between Dallas, Kansas City, Chicago, and San Deigo. I dont see Carl out bidding anybody because he just doesnt like to spend the money a player deserves to make. Next would be Porter. Hes 6 foot 215 lbs but hes an athletic freak with exceptional speed, solid hands, and leaping ability. If the Raiders dont lock him up this year I would hope the Chiefs make a push for him in the off season. I see Tampa Bay making a push for him only because Gruden goes after almost every former Raider so lets hope Gruden doesnt get what he wants and he falls into out lap.
