Im doing a keeper league and when I took over last year the team was in shambles. I turned around and traded some of the aging players I had like Chipper, Brian Giles, Luis Gonzalez etc for good young prospects. I also raided waivers of any useable talent. Keep in mind this is a 16 team league so its not as bad as it looks and my team finished in the middle of the pack (8th) last year.
Review of last year: The only semi-regrettable move I made was dealing JD Drew and Mark Buerhle for Ramirez Matsui and Perez cause who would have guessed Drew would stay healthy + now I can use a good bat. I pulled in a sweet deal for Hudson; got Sheets, Reyes and Lee for T-Hud, Washburn, and Trevor Hoffman. Was voted Manager of the year by league members since my team had actually finished 20th the year before (4 teams were then contracted):)

Its a true keeper in that we keep everyone except 3 players; in my case 4 since I had 1 on the Dl when the season ended. My questions to you are:

1. Who do you think I should dump? + Why?
2. What are your thoughts on my team?

Its standard H2H, and 5x5 league (BA, Sb, RS, HR, RBI, Sv, W's, K's, Whip, ERA), with regular positions but as of now NO Utility spots making versitility important.

Team:
Johnny Estrada (C)
Travis Hafner (1b)
Kaz Matsui (2b, ss)
Jose Reyes (SS, 2b)
David Wright (3b)
Dallas MacPhereson (3b)
Brad Wilkerson (OF)
Alex Rios (OF)
Preston Wilson (OF)
Ben Sheets (P)
Horacio Ramirez (P)
Jeff Francis (P)
Cliff Lee (P)
Greg Aquino (RP)
Jose Valverde(RP)
Jeremy Affeldt (RP)
Odalis Perez (P)
Jose Capellan (P)
Gavin Floyd (P)

I'd love to help you out, but honestly I am not all that schooled on some of the youngsters you have on your team.....yet. I will be in time, but as of right now I can't give you an educated answer without taking those players into account.

Is Capellan the guy that got dealt to the Brewers from Atlanta? And if so, is he expected to make the rotation this year?

If you had a little more depth in the outfield, I'd tell you to drop Preston Wilson and run away.

ATL is gonna regrett that 1 too; Cappellan throws 96-98; can top 100. Could eventually be an ace but should certainly make Mil's rotation.

As far as the rest of those guys you dont know; you should research them. Theyre going to be very nice late rd players. McPherson has massive upside + will start for the Angels @<hidden> 3b (Angels@<hidden>). Reyes +Wright are also a bigtime talents for NYm, both were top prospects in MLB at 1 point over the last 2 seasons according to baseball america. Also Francis was minor league P of the year last year. Rios will eventually develop more power than he showed last year + is a SB and RS asset.

Anyone else your not familiar with I can probably help you.

My biggest problem is too much talent and im unsure of the status of some of my vets like Preston and Wilkerson + what to expect of them

Yeah, I know about McPherson, Reyes (too much), and Wright.

Not so much Rios or Francis.

I too, would probably considering dumping Wilson.

You're thin up the middle unfortunately.

Reyes can't stay healthy. I do think Matsui will be better this season.

I agree with MadNova on this one, but you have little choice really.

Then you'll need to go get an insurance policy for him if you can find one.

Reyes can't stay healthy. I do think Matsui will be better this season.Im a very optimistic Mets fan with regards to reyes. Normally i dont mix my favorite players onto my fantasy teams but I know reyes saw a hammy specialist and was running like crazy (18/18SB) in the dominican winter leagues + was taking BP with Tejada. Either way hes staying cause theres no SS depth in a 16 team league.

Im leaning right now towards Wilson, 1 of the 2 Zona P's who doesnt get the Closer spot, Capellan who I think I can get back...not sure about that last 1. Im still actively shopping Wilson though I dont know what ill get back for him + if ill have to package someone to get rid of him.
