Feb. 7 - With the Feb. 24 trade deadline approaching, Gary Payton's name has been linked to rumors involving Minnesota. But after the veteran guard dropped 22 points on the T-Wolves to help the Celtics win their third straight with a 103-100 decision on Feb. 6, Payton is happy where he's at.
"Our team is playing really well right now, so I'm just going along with this team," Payton told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "I like the guys I'm around right now. Everybody chirping in about me going places -- I'm not really thinking about that. We're just trying to make this team better and better ...
"Like I said -- I told everybody it's a business. Whatever happens, happens. But right now, I'm still a Boston Celtic and we're going to try to keep winning basketball games."
Payton, 36, has started all 47 games for the Celtics and is averaging 12.4 points and 6.3 assists per game.
