Who thinks this guy will be a great manager? Or will he fail? I think he will be mediocre but it all depends on the players.

I loved the hiring. I wanted us to hire him instead of Howe a few years ago. He comes from a winning organization, 6WS titles, hes got a humility to him but hes not afraid to get in anyones face. NYY players frequently went to him with concerns so hes appraochable and if you ever saw him play you know hes gritty. So i expect this team to have his stamp on it and I predict he'll do just fine.

I dont think we're the most talented team in the division yet so if anything holds us back at this point it will be lack of a true clean up bat (I dont think Piazza is that guy anymore), bullpen help, and injury concerns about Reyes, Piazza, Cameron and Floyd (a lock to miss 50+ games) and not Willie.

As of now Id say 85-88 wins and maybe willie can squeeze a few extra out of our guys.

I think 3 teams have a good shot for 90 and the Mets 85-88.

I think 3 teams have a good shot for 90 and the Mets 85-88.Yeah see I see Philly and NYM in the same boat. We're both capable of being 10 wins better but we have questions. You guys need pitching help, we need a cleanup bat and pen help + to be healthy.
