Feb. 4 - Charles Johnson has dropped his demand for a contract extension, giving the Rockies a chance to deal the catcher to the Devil Rays, The Denver Post reports.
Johnson could nix any trade, though, because he has a no-trade clause. Colorado reportedly would eat $8.25 million of Johnson's $9 million salary in exchange for minor-league catcher Shawn Riggans.
