Found this on the net and it pretty much does sum up everything. I miss hockey wish these assholes will just realize they are getting paid to play a game. They will still be millionaires with or without a salary cap. So here you go to keep you up to date on why hockey may not be back next year.

The entire history of these negotiations can pretty much be summed up by this dialogue.

NHL: “We’re going to need a salary cap”

NHLPA: “We’ll never accept a salary cap

Time passes

NHL: “We really need a cap. See? (holds out Levitt report) We’re losing money”

NHLPA: “Hmm….yeah, we don’t believe you.”

Time Passes

NHL: “We’re saving money by not playing, so unless we get a cap we’re not budging”

NHLPA: “We’ll give up 24% of our salaries, but only with no restrictions on them rising later”

Time Passes

NHL: “That won’t solve any of our problems! The salaries will just go back up! We NEED a cap!”

NHLPA: “We won’t accept a cap in any form ever for the rest of eternity, here’s a plan we think is fair”

Time Passes

NHL: “Your plan sucks. Here’s one we think is good.”

NHLPA: “Your plan sucks worse than our plan! No deal”

Time Passes…

And it goes on and on and on. The sad part is almost no one in this country cares. With the Super Bowl on Sunday, I’m pretty much with them too.
