The losers from MSG made another attempt to stop the plan for a Jets Stadium yesterday, as they made a bid on the land site the team is looking to use for the new stadium. (http://www.newsday.com/news/local/newyork/nyc-stad0205,0,4282872.story?coll=ny-nynews-headlines)MSG offered the Transportation Authority, the owners of the property, $600 million to develop an apartment and shopping complex. Marissa Shorenstein, a Jets spokeswoman called the move a "cynical PR gimmick by a company that has already demonstrated that it will do anything to protect its monopoly." These idiots are trying to stop the Jets from playing down the street from their venue, fearing fans would stop coming to events there. I say, who the heck wants to go there anyway? The Rangers are locked out, the Knicks are an absolute disgrace and they can't even book a decent concert nowadays. The city needs a new place to watch some REAL sporting events, not the humorous charade of events that currently takes place at what USED TO BE the world's most famous arena.
