Pedro Astacio
Interested - Rangers, Rockies, Mariners, Pirates
Feb. 1 - The Pirates' negotiations with veteran pitcher Pedro Astacio have fallen apart, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Astacio's agent, Stephen Schneider, strongly suggested Monday night that the right-hander would be focusing elsewhere.
"Nothing is imminent with the Pirates," Schneider told the Post-Gazette. "I wouldn't hold my breath."
Astacio is believed to be seeking a major-league contract worth $700,000 in base pay plus $2 million or more in incentives.
