View Full Version : Reputation points!!

This was posted by a moderator by the name of Slob, I liked it, so I borrowed his writing.
In the top right corner of posts, you will notice a little blue box with an "X" and a "check mark" in it.
When you click on that box, it askes you if you want to add to that posters reputation, and you can drop a little note that you liked thier post. It also adds points to there reputation, and lets others know that people feel they are a good poster.
Now, we have some VERY good posters in this forum, why not spend a few seconds to let them know we appreciate their knowledge?
This is just one of the many very nice features that this board has, and it may as well be taken advantage of.
PS.....You can also view the reputation comments that YOU have recieved, and see how many points YOU have by clicking the "USER CP" button at the top of our homepage

To further supplement The Slob's comments regarding reputation, I would like to direct you to an article regarding reputation:
Click here to access the articles area (http://www.sports-boards.net/forums/article.php)
Follow this path:
Sports-Boards Articles -> Tutorials -> User Reputation
Hopefully that helps out as well.

I have given one person a nod so far. No one else is really here enough.you can give rep point to ANY poster that makes you laugh or think. it doen't have to be a particular board or a friend. i give them to people i don't know all time. maybe i even gave some to you !

Hey ryno, is the ability to choose your title a moderater function or does it unlock as you accumulate posts?

That is a good question. I would think that if you are not a moderator it would change as your post count goes up, which it does seem to do. But us mods can change ours, it is cool.

it's a mod privelege...although, I think Sully or ryr would be able to change yours if you ask nicely, but I'm not sure. I've tried changing others, but to my chagrin, it didn't work.

I think the next one for you (at 250?) is veteran, then 500 is allstar, but not sure...

Don't blame me, I submitted an application weeks ago. Or a week ago. Whichever is more accurate.

If we ever had a Customer Service forum, you'll get my vote for mod...until then, I think they need a mod for the curling forum...

Curling is a fine sport to play on N64, but in real life it is lacking.

I know there are some posters here who want to be surprised as to the user title hierarchy. If you want to know what is beyond the ones posted here, send me a PM.
At 0 posts, you are a Promising Prospect.
At 50 posts, you are a Rookie.
At 100 posts, you are a Bench Warmer.
At 250 posts, you are a Starter.
At 500 posts, you are a First Time All-Star
After 500, the next promotion comes at 1,000 posts.

My falling off the Sports-boards.com map after becoming a mod there may have something to do about it as well. After awhile I got sick of talking to myself. Imagine that.

No, usually each ID had a purpose in a grand joke scheme, or were apologetic versions of trolls, or a gentle rib on regulars of various boards.
Although Cards_of_Fury was starting to have quite a following as a prophet of God's chosen football team...

That was you. I had heard of you occasionally. I was getting to that point with one of my two id's. My second will forever be a mystery.

I had enough people trying to convince others that they were me, I didn't need another personality over there, though I did have a total of four accounts, it helped come tourney time for additional entries.

The only reason I ever came up with my other one is to be able to not piss off some of the old school regulars from nfl.com. they really hated trolls, so did I but there were some times when I had to go and get even with some of those idiots on the chiefs and raider boards.
