Jan. 30 - Agent Joel Segal confirmed to The Washington Times that the Redskins have granted WR Gardner permission to seek a trade. ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli initially reported the Redskins were dangling Gardner as trade bait. Tampa Bay is said to be interested. The Redskins probably will trade him for a middle-round draft choice.
Pro Football Weekly talked to Redskins observers who said Gardner to Tampa Bay is a strong possibility.
The Texans also are thought to be in the market for a solid No. 2 receiver to play opposite Andre Johnson.
