Jan. 28 - According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Juan Encarnacion could be on the trading block. With the Marlins' overbooked outfield – center fielder Juan Pierre likely will be flanked by Miguel Cabrera in right and Jeff Conine in left – Encarnacion is the odd man out.
Encarnacion, coming off surgery on his left (non-throwing) shoulder, will make $4.45 million this season, which seems too expensive to carry on the bench.
