Things are beginning to shape up for the Expos...um...Nationals. So, far, I believe the lineup for 2005 might look something like this:

Guillen
Vidro
Wilkerson
Johnson
Castilla
Schneider
Chavez
Pitcher

Rotataion:
Livan
Loaiza
Ohka
Armas
Day

I know, I know. Guillen to lead off? Well, at least until Chavez can prove that he can get on base. The lineup itself is rather weak - remember Vinny isn't the best hitter outside of coors. Our backups are not very good either - so hopefully they stay healthy this year. The only bright spot I see is in the pitching, but even so Armas, Day, and Ohka are coming off injuries, and the last time Loaiza pitched in the NL was when he was way back in Pittsburgh. Nevertheless, I'm still worried about our lineup, as most (if not all) players had an OBP less than .350 last year.

Guzman and Vidro might need to switch spots. Guz tends to hack away and may not be the answer to the leadoff slot question.

yeah. We really don't have a leadoff hitter, though. No one has good OBP, and the speed on the club is dismal. But, Vidro could be a good leadoff man.

you're right. I'd probably stick him ahead of Shneider.
