You think we could keep the 3 former Big East teams next year and send Virginia and Clemson to the Big East in return?

Well we do get currently undefeated BC next year but by then.. who knows what could happen. By the way on one site I saw what the divisions are going to be for ACC next year all i know is that Duke and UNC are in the same division I think with Miami and VT. If I can find them I will get it back to you guys unless someone already knows what they are.

There hasn't been an announcement on the divisions yet. But you can come up with some pretty decent ideas.

UNC and D___ will be in the same division. So will Maryland, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. Miami and Florida State will be split up for football reasons.

I think that Tobacco Road has to be in one division. Duke/Dook, UNC, Wake, NC State, Maryland (to keep the rivalries) and Clemson.

Other division: VT, VA, Miami, BC, FSU, and GT.

No way they split up UVA and Maryland. That's the only real all-sport rival that each other have.

And I don't think they'll keep the Big Four together because they don't want to give it the feel of the "real ACC" and "others", as flawed as that might be. The conference's roots are in the Triangle though.

If they put the 4 new teams into one conference, that's too unbalanced traditionally. My guess would be UNC/D___/GT/Clem/Miami/BC ----- UVA/Maryland/VaTech/FSU/Wake/NCSU

But even that isn't balanced for football...I don't know. I probably shouldn't predict anyway, if Miami comes into Chapel Hill and wins in a half hour, I'm kicking them out of the conference anyway.

I just think that they can't split up UNC, Duke/Dook, and Maryland. It wouldn't be fair for tradition.

With all due respect, Maryland isn't really a part of that tradition. I know you're a relatively new Maryland fan, and during your time they have been going toe-to-toe with everyone and have had memorable battles with D___, but on the list of traditional rivals, I know the Terps come in behind all the other 3 NC schools for UNC and at least behind UNC and NCSt. for D___.

Before the last 7-8 years or so, Maryland just showed up to get housed by UNC and D___ in basketball. And like I said, there's not even a semblance of a rivalry in any sport but basketball. If UNC/D___/NCSU got together and played Chinese Checkers, there would be anger and distaste as far as the eye could see.

You're probably right about that. It would just suck to see Maryland not play UNC and Duke/Dook twice a year.

Yeah, I agree. My solution is to fire bomb BC/VT/Miami (and FSU if there are still enough explosives left) and go back to the double round robin without any chance of further changes to the league, but I don't think that'll happen.

Maybe we'll get used to the divisions though. At least we'll have the same schedule every year and the same schedule as everyone in our divisions. At least a somewhat viable means of comparison.
