Still plenty of good seats available.

State and their fans are a disgrace.

Also, can anyone tell me why Mike Patrick is so impressed that Dook is "hanging in this game"? Um, they are the undefeated #5 team in the country playing a team that - well - sucks.

"Dook has just taken a 4 point lead! Are you kidding?!"

Uh, no Mike, they're supposed to win this game.

You're not allowed to say that, ashey. That's trolling.

Oh and BTW, I saw that episode of Chapelle's Show this week and you misspelled the dude's name. It's Ashy Larry.

I demand an apology.

It was an observation and this isn't the Duke board.

My spelling is grammatically correct.

Yeah, what is wrong with Duke...only beats NC State by 12 without Shavlik Randolph. Horrible, horrible I must say.

The same State team that got rolled by St. John's. Shavlik Randolph isn't anything great to begin with. Duke has not looked very good all year, despite your rolling eyes.

Never said they have, but they are (12-0) and I can say with confidence they wouldn't have lost to Santa Clara.

I'd care if I knew I wasn't biding my time until Carolina rolls you by double digits twice this year.

And no, I've never felt that confident before, with the exception of Dook's awful '95 season.

I'm glad Carolina has finally figured out how to play basketball again, tell me...what other team in College Basketball can have their worst year in a decade and still make the tournament?

Considering Carolina made 26 straight tournaments up until 2000 and made the Sweet 16 13 straight years through the 80's and early 90's, I'd say us, though I doubt that's the answer you're looking for.

Thanks for reminding me though.

Alright, I'm down with that...but you should call me when you win six straight ACC titles. You're also lucky Deng isn't around anymore, and if you watched any ACC ball last year, you know what I'm talking about.

We can play the "if this guy stayed" game all through the last 10 years though. Carolina in the mid to late 90's moreso, you guys moreso lately. If Stack and Wallace come back in 96 or 97...wow. If Vince or Antawn come back...holy hell. Hey, even if we had JR Smith or JamesOn Curry this year, we'd be that much better. You guys, Deng and Livingston.

'Nova is good whether you guys want to admit is up to you. Though losing Sumpter for 3-6 weeks could hurt them alot, especially with Kansas coming to the Wachovia Center next week.

In no way am I playing that game, because I know I could go deep with that. I wasn't just pointing out what Deng would have done for the team as a whole as much as pointing out at how well he played vs. UNC last year. I'm not using it as an excuse for anything (Duke is 12-0) but when it comes to Carolina, it may have made things so very much different.

And I love to talk ACC basketball but I'm afraid I'm not going to do much more if you can't cut the childish crap. Learn to show some respect around here, this 'Dook' crap is just ignorant. Show some intelligence, which I know you have from many of your posts about ACC ball, but you loose a lot with this 'Dook' crap.

For a guy who, like me, likes to lob around silly little sarcastic remarks, it seems a little hypocritical to get bothered by something so dumb and insignificant as "Dook".

It's said in jest and is just the same kind of good-nautred ribbing that appears everywhere on this site. Ya gotta lighten up a little bit. If I flipped out whenever someone mentioned Santa Clara around here, I'd have put my fist through my monitor weeks ago.

I was at the game tonight, and I must say it was a good win for duke, showed them that there bench could step it up and they did, great games by melch and demark, shelden also came through big in the 2nd half.

Also I agree with phila that the dook stuff is kinda dumb, i mean whats the point

Well, since it's mentioned once or twice a week, it apparently gets under D___ fans' skin. That would be the point. To be honest, it's just a habit I picked up over the years - I don't even think about it at this point.

JDawk - Was the arena as empty as it looked on TV? At the beginning of the game, it looked like 40% full. It was pissing me off. Was it just a late arriving crowd? Lots of traffic? Security?

Melchionni (sp?) has looked good offensively the last few games. Nice stroke from the 3. He grew up about a half hour away from me...not that I know him or his family or anything.

Security?yeah I got there like 20 min before, but it was def a later arriving student crowd, but the alumni and paying fans i was disappointed with the turnout, there were alot of empty seats, there is also alot of traffic at the games

I don't even think it's about getting under anyone skins here...I'm perfectly fine with you doing it but I would find it hard to have decent conversations about ACC Bball if you continually did it. It's quite ignorant if you ask me. Takes away from your ACC smarts if you ask me.

I don't know but for once Duke looks like a middle of the road team and especially with the way that Wake has been playing(except the whipping by the Illini) and UNC playing as well as they are and even Ga Tech playing ok, Duke could struggle to finish third or even fourth in the ACC. With that being said they still will be the team to beat come ACC tournament time due directly to Coach K and the fact that he will always have that team prepared for that.
