Update: The Mets have discussed scenarios with the Cubs in which left fielder Cliff Floyd would head to the Cubs in a package along with a pitcher - likely either starter Aaron Heilman or Jae Seo - for Sosa, the Bergen Record reports.

Recommendation: The Cubs are, according to one baseball official, so intent on dealing Sosa that they will absorb the entire difference between his deal and what the Mets would send back. The Mets pursuit of Sosa may depend on how close they are to signing Carlos Delgado, since they have said that they need to jettison some salary to bring him on board.

Sosa is a bitch.. but, he hasn't been injured anywhere near as much as Floyd, His bat is better than Floyd's, and the defense is about the same. IF the cubs pay the difference in salary, I hate to say it, but I would go for it.
