I've read he wants 15 mil per season.. he obviously isn't getting that. It seems like he'll get a 3 year deal. I wouldn't mind 3 yrs for 39 million. Sheffield signed a 3 year 39 mil deal, Delgado is not better than Sheffield. If Delgado wants more than 3/39 I would really have to think hard about that.

From what I read he wants that 4th year. The way I see it is that Omar can give him a 4th year if hes willing to take a bit less per year. If Sexson got 4/50 and Glaus got 4/45 than he should fall right in between at about 4/48 cause sexson is younger and just entering his prime so that should be worth a bit more than Delgado even though Delgado may be a slightly better player for now.

News
The Mets have offered free agent first baseman Carlos Delgado a three-year deal worth just under $30 million, Newsday reported. Delgado is scheduled to meet with Mets' officials on Thursday. The paper reports that the slugger is looking for a four-year deal worth significantly more than $10 million per season.

Delgado already turned down a similar deal from the Orioles, and the Marlins have reportedly offered a three-year, $35 million package. We have to believe the Mets are going to come up with something bigger when they meet later this week, as we'd think Delgado's market value would be in the range of (if not better than) what Richie Sexson (four years, $50 million) and Troy Glaus (four years, $45 million) received.
