The Mets have made some pretty impressive offseason acquisitions. If Beltran can talk Delgado into jumping on board, that's even better.

For once they got somebody on the upside of their career in Beltran. Delgado, although not on the upside, definitely isn't declining like so many other mets trades [Alomar, Vaughn]. We are basically one slugger (Delgado) and some bullpen pitchers away from competing for real.

Personally, I dont care that delgado wanted the Yanks to come in to the bidding, I dont care that cameron is telling Newsday he wants a trade, I dont care that people think Pedro wasnt worth his deal (He was)....In the end what matters is that Beltran is a top 10 player and he wants to play hard for the mets and earn his payday. What matters is that he and Pedro are trying to persuade Delgado to come here. What matters is that this organization is showing a willingness to let Omar run the team and to try and get it headed back in the right direction. Im excited at the thought of having a true masher like Delgado in the lineup with quality guys in front of him like Beltran, Kaz and Reyes. I think Delgado needs to look at that and realize theres a real opportunity here to drive in 120 runs.

As far as the pen anyone hear anything about whats going on with Heilman and Seo? Why not make Heilman or Trax the long reliever and than deal seo for BY Kim since sox want to shed his salary and hes proven himself to be a solid pitcher during the regular season vs anyone not named Yankees.
