View Full Version : The season opener
The Patriots and the Colts square off tonight is the long awaited season opener. Will the defending champs look like the team from last January, or will Peyton and the Colts be able to avenge two losses from last season.
The task seems large, but this fan thinks that the Colts will pull it out.
I'm taking the colt in an upset.

I kind of have a feeling that the Colts will win this one as well. To the Patriots it'll be just another game, to the Colts it'll be payback. Unless it drives the Colts to make mistakes in frustration, etc., it'll fire their competitive juices just enough. Whether it's true or not, they could argue that they beat themselves, (frankly I don't think so, but...), that being the case they should feel that they can be better than that and that they should have won the game. That combination I THINK will be enough for one very good team to defeat another very good team.
Odds are rather high that they'll be meeting again in the playoffs, wonder if this game will decide homefield advantage. ;)
Have a good day all ... off to work.

I am going to go with the Pats. After all they are the defending superbowl champions, and they are going for the most cons. wins.
The Colts had every opportunity last night to make me look smart. But New England was able to force 3 turnovers with the colts threatening to score, keeping thier dominace of the Colts intact.
A great game, too bad I'm already 0-1 for the season.
Also, I had no idea that Brady's consecutive completions without and INT was going for so long.

Colts did everything I thought they would do ... 'cept hang on to the ball. They should have won the game, but every time they got into the redzone they got sloppy with the ball. New England played a good game, they had a rough time stopping Indy's offense, but every opportunity Indy gave them to kill a drive, they seized immediately. Indy's defense is just down right ugly, some of the Pat's receivers were so open they could have baked a cake before catching the ball.

I dont see how this was that much different than last year, colts had turnovers and lost, this time it was manning and edge, last time it was manning and harrison. Brady looked great and dillon looked great as well. 16 straight. Have to be doing somthing right.
