7 shutout innings, 9 K's (233 for the year, second in basball behind Randy Johnson)..., ERA down to 2.85 (2nd in MLB .05 behind Randy Johnson for the best)...Cy Young all but locked up.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this guy is the most amazing Twin's pitcher I've ever seen, if he can keep this run up through the playoffs the Twins will win the American League easily.
Now...the World Series....could even Johan shut down the Cards? I pray someone upsets them.

Holy crap! He just keeps on doing it. Every outing he just goes out and shows why he is the hands-down Cy Young winner for 2004.
Barring a collapse, it would be a crime in most civilized countries if he didn't win the award.

i hope Santana Doesn't win the award..its just a trophy when all is said and done.... and what it means...is a higher salary for johan..... we all know he deserves it....the twins know he deserves it...thats all that matters

Even if he doesn't win it, his agent could come in and say "However, Johan should've won the Cy Young" and pull some form of rhetoric to jack up his salary. Just being in contention is adding the dollars to his new contract.
I hope he does win it. This way we can have some sort of faith that this award is given to the best pitcher, not just the one who can rack up the most wins with a mediocre ERA because he plays on a team with a solid offense.

I'm deeply hurt.
You guys still got that 2 way ventilation system working in the Metrodome?

Yep, we still have the vents... Though the guy in the story you mention doesn't work at the Metrodome anymore, as I recall.

Easily? I guess you seem to think the Red Sox and/or Angels won't be playing in the post season. Santana is great, and Radke has pitched well this year, but the Sox and Halos can score like nobody's business. Which ever of those 2 teams wins the wild card will pose a huge obstacle for the Twins, and if the Halos catch the A's for the West and Boston makes the WC or wins the East the Twinkies really got their hands full. Honestly right now out of all the possible AL playoff teams I really think the Spanks are the team every other team would love to face.

I'd feel really confident against the Angels. As for the Sox and Yanks, I'd still feel pretty good knowing that Santana and Radke would be on the mound 5 out of 7 games.

I agree Johan was dominant against the O's, but the O's are not the Sox or Halos. I'm not saying by any means that the Twins have no chance, but I am saying that they won't win the AL easily...

That's just it though, it doesn't matter who he faces. He shut down the BoSox, he shut down the Yanks, he shut down the A's, the Rangers, the White Sox, the Angels.
Can he keep pitching like this? If he can then he's untouchable because he's something very special right now. If he returns to a more human form then we might be in trouble because the BoSox and Angels can hit.
