There's a rain delay now. I didn't notice his velocity in the first, but Burnett threw a couple over 100 mph.

can someone who watches post Morris's velocity?
Is that when he throws the ball to the batter or the ball's velocity as it sails over the outfield wall?
I sure hope Morris has a decent real estate agent. He can't sell his St. Louis home quick enough at the end of the season.

Not really surprising to see Morris give up a solo HR now is it.
I still think we will win this game if we get a chance to finish it.

Runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs...
Cedeno strikes out on 3 pitches....
Luna drives in Edmonds, for some reason John decided to try to go to 3rd and got gunned down there.
1-1 now...

What a mess this has turned into! MLB Extra Innings didn't reschedule the game so I had to watch it on MLB.TV. During the rain delay they blacked out the programming and didn't pick up the broadcast when it resumed. Now I have to listen to it instead of watching.

Marlon Anderson needs to not be playing anymore he is really stinking up the place right now.
Cardsgem
08-12-2004, 01:30 PM
Ug Anderson can't hit and he can't field either, big error there allows 1 to score and now runners on the corner 1 out.
Time to drop his ass and get somebody up from AAA to take his place.

Should be 2 unearned runs that inning put the Fish up 3-1 ..

3-2 fish....
Not sure why they gave both of those runs as earned they should not be.

08-12-2004, 01:35 PM
I got the MLB.TV feed back on just in time to see Walker's first homer as a Cardinal.:D 3-2 now.

The way Mabry has been playing as of late he really should be starting against all righties we face.....
However you can really tell we took the first 2 games of the series with the lineup we have out there today....YUCK
frivolousz21
08-12-2004, 01:49 PM
yes..
but still Anderson is bad.
and no versitality.he cannot play outfield...so he plays 2nd base and bats .225
get him off the team!

One thing I do like to see about Morris is that he has gotton 10 groundball outs. If he can keep the ball down he will be fine, he has only gotton 1 fly ball out and has 2 k's.
Burnett on other hand only has 2 ground ball outs and 6 fly outs. Only a matter of time before we start hammering him.
Cardsgem
08-12-2004, 01:54 PM
Wow Marlins have gotton on base alot without the ball leaving the IF today.
Can you tell we don't have our reg starters in...
frivolousz21
08-12-2004, 01:58 PM
why does Morris have 3 er?
shouldnt it only be 1 or 2?
Cardsgem
08-12-2004, 01:59 PM
Yeah it should be 2 at most, more likely 1 with Anderson's bone head plays.
Cardsgem
08-12-2004, 02:03 PM
Morris has throw 52 pitches through 5 innings, not to bad at all considering some of the lack of defense behind him today.
frivolousz21
08-12-2004, 02:05 PM
damn Albert on 3 pitches?
Cardsgem
08-12-2004, 02:06 PM

I feel bad for Morris he pitches great and the defense just flat out lets him down, of course does not help to have 3 subs at 3 different IF positions...
JimGinPA
08-12-2004, 02:40 PM
I knew as soon as TLR let Morris make the last out that this would be a loss.
Cardsgem
08-12-2004, 02:40 PM
Wow, just pathetic today, even our 1 starter in the IF forgot how to play defense today.....:o
Cardsgem
08-12-2004, 02:42 PM
Damn Morris had a great start today, but defense really fubarded him big time...I can understand allowing a few guys to rest but 4/5th of the IF being allowed to all rest on the same day...kind of stuck it to Morris there IMHO.

Morris kind of got the SCREWS put to him today with the defense that was put behind him.

And bringing in Simo SUCKY man was just stupid.....
Between that and our lack of defense today cost us this one..
Morris gave us more than a chance to win

This has got to be one of the ugliest innings I can recall this year.
FUCK.
The anti-TLR members will have fun ragging on him leaving Morris in to hit with a runner on 2nd in the top of the 7th.
Defense (or lack thereof) lost this one.

Well, considering he owes the offense and defense a few with some prior pitching "performances", I don't think he'll complain much.

There was nothing wrong with leaving Morris in, he had not thrown hardly any pitches at all.
The thing they need to be ragging him on is having 4/5th's of our starting IF on the bench for a ground ball pitcher.

Wow is there something wrong with Walker?
Or is tony just in the mood to make all kinds of stupid decisions today?

First of all, why don't you point out the first stupid decision TLR made today? He hasn't made one, IMO. Bad defense, plain and simple. Anyone blaming TLR for this loss is insane and delusional.

a very good case could be made that Morris should have been PH for if this game mattered in the standings.
Reality is, though, that is doesn't. Or, more specifically, it means very little. The next three games against the Braves matter more than getting a sweep against a team 3.5 games out of the wild card race.
When Tony gives you the day off, you don't normally play at all. Not even to pinch hit.

Um maybe for sitting 6 of our 9 starters today...
I understand them needing some time to rest, but don't do it all on the same day.
That is just asking for a loss, how is that supposed to make your starting pitcher feel that day.

Again, I would like to have a rested "A" squad going into the Braves series than trying to sweep the Marlins.
Morris should be feeling the exact same thing that the offense feels when they have to battle back just so Morris gets a no-decision because he couldn't get anyone out. Morris is a big-leaguer. He should be able to adjust to the defense and offense he's given. Sometimes, things just don't click for you and you get the "L". I'll say, though, that Morris has more "No Decisions" because of the offense/defense than he has "Losses" from shoddy defense/offense.

08-12-2004, 03:32 PM
Well get your facts straight buddy he rested 5 out of 8 regulars. The starting pitcher isn't a regular, well he is, but you can't count TLR resting the pitcher that just pitched the day before. Pujols, Walker and Edmonds played that is 3 out of 8 regulars playing.

Sorry 5 our of 8 I added one to each....
still same thing applies he sat over half the team today....
sure gives gives the sign to the SP manage could care less if they lose the game.
But matt went out and pitched a very good game to watch his defense crap it down their legs all day long.
