ZURICH, Switzerland — Locked-out NHL players Marco Turco, Marc Savard and Kim Johnsson quit their European clubs.
Turco, a Dallas Stars goaltender playing with the Swedish club Djurgarden Stockholm, is returning to the United States for family reasons, the International Ice Hockey Federation said Thursday.

Savard, an Atlanta Thrashers forward, was playing for SC Bern. The federation said his contract with the Swiss team was terminated because of his poor conditioning and "less than average skating ability." Bern had lured Savard from the Swiss team Thurgau as a replacement for Dany Heatley, whose eye was injured when hit by a puck.
Johnsson, a Philadelphia Flyers defenseman, initially signed until Christmas with Ambri-Piotta, but he will play his last game with the Swiss club Saturday and return to his native Sweden. Johnsson has not said if he will sign with another European team.
