I hope he continues this today...I notice how much more effective he was when he hit those speeds last week. if he can hit 93 consistantly then he can throw that 86 2 seamer and make it look much better.(if he can keep it down)
id love to see Morris throw hard with that 76 breaker again!
I think you are talking about his 4 seam fastball? it was only last year or definitely the year before Morris could get that up to 97mph.
So he has definitely lost speed in the past couple of years. Possibly due to his being overworked last year when the Cards did not have a bullpen.

yes..but doenst he throw a 2 seamer..about 86-88
if that is the case..it wouldnt be effective when his 4 seamer is 90..maybe i got then confused.
but if his fastballs are:
main fastball 93-95
2 seamer or 4: 86-88
changeup:80-83
Curve: 70-77?
thats a good ratio

What do you think of resigning Morris in the Offseason? I for one am skeptical of him regaining his velocity on a regular basis. I would rather see the Card's go after Carl Pavano (yes I thought this before last nights game).
Also, is Carp a FA this winter?

Trends say that Morris will get crushed today...
but last week he did throw harder. I am excited to see if he can acutally get some consistancy in his starts. with the way Florida is hitting he should have a big game!:)

Walker's not a FA next year. He has an option for 2006 for $15 million(?).
I don't know about Womack, but I'd just sign Renteria and put Luna at second. I would then spend a little dough on getting a leadoff guy to play left, add Haren to the rotation, and sign a staff ace/another pitcher.

Man I'm glad that I'm not a GM. I have a hard time getting out of this season let alone looking forward to the next year or even further down the road.

i think Walker has 4 mil buyout...
what they need to do..is see if they can pay him the buyout..or spread the 16 mil over 3 more yrs..which means Walker would play threw 2008.
then again he would be 41.
but then ud only pay him 5 mil per.
or get the buyout resign for low for 2 yrs if he wants to stay

I think the outfield will be fine if we can keep our bench group together. Bring back Mabry and Cedeno and let them share time with Sanders.
If the team is going to spend money, they should be looking at starting pitching and second base.
I'd like to see them bring Renteria back, but he isn't consistent enough to deserve a fortune. Hopefully no other team will offer him one. If somebody does, I can't see him returning as a Card.
Starters are most important, especially with our minor league hurlers going down like ducks in a carnival shooting gallery.

it is a team option for 15 million or a one million buyout. i dont know if we have to cover the buyout or not. it is reported the rocks will pay 7.5 million of the 12.5 million he is owed in 2005. i thought i read somewhere that the rocks were paying a total of 9 million but i am not certain about that.

Why would Walker want to sign for 16 mil for 3 years when he makes 15 mil in one? While it would be a sweet deal for the organization, Walker would need to be totally in love with St. Louis to sign a deal like that. What saves us a little for next year is that Colo is paying a portion of that heafty salary I believe.
While I'm excited about getting Walker this year and possibly next, I'm not to sure I want another injury prone player in the outfield signed for longer than a 2 year contract. (i.e. JD.D.) Although, JD jas been proving us wrong this year.

Walker is due 12.5 mil next year, but the Rockies gave us cash to cover part of that. His option is for 2006 at 15 mil or a 1 mil buyout, which I think the team will probably exercise.
