4/24: The Washington Redskins are honing in on Clemson defensive end Philip Merling and Oklahoma wide receiver Malcolm Kelly, according to the Washington Post (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/2008/04/phillip_merling_and_malcolm_ke.html). Owner Daniel Snyder, head coach Jim Zorn and defensive coordinator Greg Blache are expected to attend workouts for both players in the next two days.
Our View: If the Redskins can’t move down, Merling would seem to make more sense in the first round, because of the abundance of solid receiver prospects in the 2008 NFL draft.
