Wow, I quite impressed with the first game and the way the offense performed. That was without some very key components, Ward and Parker. I know it is only preseason but usually our offense comes out sputtering and everyone wonders how it is going find its feet. From the sounds of things the team may not be so ground oriented and could use a lot of passing to set up the run. More to come but it will make Big Ben a more valuable fantasy QB.
Looks like we will see our huge rookie TE this next game. Cannot wait to see folks try to cover him. Have memories of Greene running down the field for us back in the 90s.

Pre-Season means nothing.
Steelers did want to win that first one for Tomlin though.
We'll see. I'm just hoping we get through the Pre-Season without injury!!!
We should have a good team.
BTW I LOVED William Gay drilling Robert Meachem.

Looks like our new punter has quite a leg on him...averaging almost 50 yards a punt. That kind of stuff can turn a game.

I agree. Winning the Field position battle is key to winning Football games.
I don't know about you guys, but your first team offense did nothing against our first team defense.

Yeah, for their whole 2 series.

Yeah, for their whole 2 series.
Less than, even. Packers trotted out their backup corners and only had the starting safeties play 3 snaps.

My take of the Steelers is that they need LT help and Coldcough looked like a contestant on dancing with the stars, but if he can get away with it all year, more power to ya.

the Steelers have been playing Max Starks quite a bit at LT. He is a RT NOT a LT. I think that move says more about what they think of Tre Essex.
Marvel Smith will be fine IMO. He's a good player who gets it done.
RT could be a problem. Starks IMO hasn't gotten it done from what I've seen and has been outplayed by Willie Colon.
We'll see.
I think we have a problem at C.
I really wish we would of drafted Nick Mangold instead of Santonio Holmes. Nothing against Holmes but the game is won and lost on the line of scrimmage. Control the lines, control the game.

Every year we seem to have some questions on the line but this year I actually agree that we should be concerned. More than anything my biggest concern is the lack of quality depth on the line.
As for Holmes, I will hold off on my opinion because I really saw him starting to blossom by the end of last season. I think he could really develop into a very, very good WR.
I almost always have concerns about most offensive linemen that are drafted in the first round. I do not know what it is but they seem to be busts more often than not (probably not more so than any other position but it is just my opinion).

more than a few draft picks haven't worked out the way the FO thought they would along the OL.
we should be better along the line than what I've seen.
I wanna see Philip go to the PS.

I do follow the CFL and I do like the Eskimos. I remember them winning 5 Grey Cups in a row with Warren Moon at QB. Best CFL teams ever.
I've been to a few Grey Cup Games....GREAT FUN and am looking forward to going to a few more.
If you were to watch a few games you'd notice more than a few names from the NFL.
I like all football....cept for that Arena stuff....
