Slobber! Good to see you made it over here. Now we just need a few more of the regulars.

Though you know, there is something entertaining about smacking down trolls...

Nah.

Not THAT entertaining.

Frankly, I'm surprised with both teams on the inclusion of Booker.

For one, I thought the natural trade on the Dolphins' side would be to ask for Anthony Thomas. I mean, which would you rather be stuck with: Chris Chambers and Antonio Freeman as your top wideouts, or Travis Minor and Leonard Henry as your top running backs? To me, it was a no-brainer that Ogunleye would get moved for a back.

Now, as for the Bears, they had depth at running back (and a couple okay third-stringers like Forsey and Peterson), so you think they would want to push Thomas to the Phins. Again, which would you rather have, Thomas Jones as your undisputed number one with little to back him up, or David Terrell as your number one receiver, backed up by rookies and second-year guys?

The whole trade just seemed like it wasn't the best possible move (although trading Thomas for Ogun would have required the Bears to add a better draft pick than a #3, so maybe that was the sticking point).

Personally, I'm glad Booker's gone because the Bears have nothing at wideout and I have no faith in Thomas Jones. Also, Ogun won't be a factor on opening day, which is why I think that the Lions will win that game and break that streak.

Well, lets look at this. The Bears have zilch at WR. Their top RB has been a miserable failure his entire career. Their starting QB is VERY young and inexpierianced.

Now, does that remind you of some team we watched the past 2 seasons or what? http://www.sports-boards.net/forums/images/icons/icon10.gifhttp://www.sports-boards.net/forums/images/icons/icon10.gifhttp://www.sports-boards.net/forums/images/icons/icon10.gifhttp://www.sports-boards.net/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif

Oh yea, and BTW. As we all can attest to, a good defense means absolutely NOTHING if the offense can't stay on the field long enough to give the D some rest.

Just curious, why is anyone surprised that the Bears made a questionable personnel move? They've been doing that for the last decade or more. Poor drafts, poor FA acquisitions, letting people go when they should have held on to them. But for the '02 season when the cards came up just right for them, we'd be looking at one of the worst franchises in the last decade. Hell we might be anyway.

Detroit at least had the excuse of having a key player unexpectedly retire on them. They made their mistakes (see we told you Schroeder was a bum), but at least they competed before they went into rebuilding and look to be competitive (IMO) next year. I think they'll drive some folks nuts this year, but their youth will cost them a couple of games and keep them out of real contention. Next year, they're going to be a PITA. Next year, I don't expect much out of the Bears ... again.

Wow, thats pretty high praise comeing from a Packer fan. Thats pretty much how MOST Lions fans feel also. I think we are looking at an 8-8 (or there abouts) season this year, and contend for the playoffs next year.

<shrug> Unless it's Vikings fans insisting that their team is truly SuperBowl bound, most people consider me fairly unbiased when it comes to my team analysis.

Ive been saying for 2 years now that DET was going to make a move in the North. Chi will be in teh cellar for years to come. With 2 darn good WRs Det will make a move to go .500 this year, the key is finding a way to win on the road, something that hasnt been done in a long itme

Honestly GB will never drop too far from the top of this division. They are willing to spend the money to get the players in to always keep them somewhat competive. Unlike the other teams in this division. While they may not always be at they top, I seriously doubt they will ever see the botom again.
